Say Hello To Our Awesome Orthodontic Assistant, Shannon!

SOMETIMES, WE’RE GUILTY OF ASSUMING TOO MUCH, RIGHT? We recently realized that we’ve probably wrongly assumed that ALL of you—our valued patients—know Shannon as well as we do! That’s probably not the case.

So, We Asked Shannon A Few Questions

We asked Shannon a few questions to help you get to know her a little better. Those questions are found below—along with her candid answers! Enjoy!

Where are you originally from?

North Bend, Washington... Born and Raised!

What made you decide that you wanted to become an orthodontic assistant?

I grew up in the dental field with my mom being an office manager for a pediatric dentist therefore I spent countless hours at the office helping out wherever I could. After I graduated from college, I realized my dreams of being a stay-at-home dog mom were unrealistic and I found a new love for orthodontics!

What’s your favorite thing to do when you’re not at work?

When I'm not at work you will usually find me outside with my dogs! I love camping, hiking, boating, fishing, snowmobiling and discovering new places to eat.

What do you enjoy most about being an orthodontic assistant?

There are so many things I enjoy about being an orthodontic assistant. However, I truly love getting to know each and every patient and watching their smiles transform!

We hope you’ve enjoyed getting to know Shannon a little better. Here at our practice we feel really fortunate to have her as a member of our awesome team.

What Is An Orthodontic Assistant?

PEOPLE ARE COMMONLY CONFUSED about what the exact role of an orthodontic assistant is. We want to set the record straight (just like we do your teeth)! Our orthodontic assistants are an invaluable part of our team and practice–to be honest, we couldn’t get much done without them!

Orthodontic Assistants Are Specially Trained To Serve You

Our orthodontic assistants are specially trained to serve YOU–our valued patients!

Becky, who is also the office manager, is a certified dental assistant.  She attended a 1 year course at the Indiana University School of Dentistry for dental assisting.  After school, she had to take (and pass) 3 board exams to receive her certificate.  She has been working in the orthodontic field for almost 8 years!  She attends continuing education courses throughout the year and also renews her CPR certificate every 2 years.  Becky loves working chair side with patients!

Our Patients Are Our Priority

Our priority is providing the highest quality of care to our patients. And we couldn’t do it without the amazing orthodontic assistants in our office! Do you have any questions for our assistant? Let us know in the comments below!
